There are very few conditions as debilitating for children and adolescents as systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (SJIA). This is a rare disease, which makes it all the more difficult to find a cure. But fortunately, homoeopathy offers hope to people living with this condition. I previously wrote about the miracle of homoeopathy and what it means for people living with the disease. Homoeopathy is an effective and safe treatment that has shown to have a real effect in certain cases of SJIA.

Unfortunately, according to the NIH:

For adult patients without severe disease, a single dose of a 1–2% solution is usually effective in improving short-term symptoms and symptoms with progression.

National Institutes of Health (NIH)

Similarly, a study in 2010 indicated that post-surgical, even a short course of homoeopathic treatment is as effective as surgical treatment in reducing pain and improving quality of life.

In 2020, I travelled to China with my father to treat his cases of neuropathy. In the future, we plan to travel regularly to countries with similar diseases and further evaluate the effectiveness of homoeopathic treatments. I will leave readers with the quote from my father that explains his tactics for dealing with such debilitating illnesses:

I think life in the grand scheme of things is just sad.

Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

Before learning about the importance of homoeopathy, Melanie recalls a time when she didn’t think much of her health. She remembers being sick with the flu, feeling dizzy, and having a headache. Her doctor suggested a dose of vitamin C. She tried taking a multivitamin, but nothing worked. Finally, Melanie drove to the supermarket, where she purchased a bottle of homoeopathic medicine. She began to treat her illness with homoeopathy immediately. She found that other symptoms of her illness, such as joint pain, decreased immediately.

Melanie has not been the same since her experience. She has a different attitude toward medicine and believes that homeopathic medicine can help people live a much better life.

What I’ve realized is that most illnesses have viruses in them

Melanie

she says

We don’t know exactly what will work, but homeopathy puts your symptoms on the same path as your virus.

Children and adolescents with SJIA

For children and adolescents with SJIA, symptoms like coordination, balance and hand and wrist weakness are part of the illness. But the issues they experience don’t have an easy fix, so doctors suggest treatments like homoeopathy. Usually, people also experience symptom relief as well, according to James W. Whitworth PhD, director of the homoeopathic hospital at Advocate Children’s Medical Center in Philadelphia.

Not only does homoeopathic treatment not have any toxic side effects, but it also teaches early Detection and intervention skills, which is especially important because many healthcare professionals don’t have the tools to help children.

Learning about homeopathy at an early age can lead to a lifetime of healthy lifestyle choices, because everything we do impacts our bodies long term.

Why use homoeopathy?

Melanie is not the only one who has been living with this illness.

Mitchell Steadman has a son diagnosed with SJIA, and he also uses homoeopathy.

He doesn’t really have any update on his health; it’s just that it’s the first test and the day after that he starts to do the right thing and the field of play opens up for him.

Mitchell Steadman

He further explains that

He’s been so resilient and I can’t believe that he can walk as far as he can due to the pain of that disease.

Whitworth says that homoeopathy can be disruptive for certain folks, but he believes it can be a beneficial part of treatment.

I wouldn’t take a homeopathic medication to heal someone with cancer unless they were terminal,” he says. “But I would encourage anyone to try homeopathic treatment if they’re seriously ill.

Homoeopathic Treatment

Whitworth also sees a crossover between sick people and the children and adolescents living with Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.

Recent studies confirm that, when given the right remedy, homoeopathic treatments are able to cure Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis in children and adolescents.

In reality, the efficacy and safety of homoeopathic treatment in this age group are certainly not clear due to the rarity of this condition and the fact that research in this area is still rudimentary. However, studies show promise and scientists are updating their knowledge regularly.

The average life expectancy of a child with sporadic CJD is 15 months, which means that these children spend a considerable amount of time away from their families. The symptoms of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (commonly referred to as juvenile arthritis) often begin in the late teens or early twenties although the exact age of diagnosis varies. Luckily, there are remedies available to ease the pain of these debilitating symptoms.

Neurological Disorders

First and foremost, age is not an issue in this disease. Although the majority of cases are found in children and adolescents, it is evident that every individual reacts well to the use of homoeopathic remedies. According to the Mozilla Foundation for Neurological Disorders, the number one killer of children and adolescents with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis is fungal meningitis. Also, another common symptom associated with the disease is gastrointestinal upset. When given the right remedy, any and all of these symptoms can be fully relieved.

Homoeopathic remedies are ideally suited for the treatment of fungal meningitis and gastrointestinal symptoms caused by CJD, including nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea. Homoeopaths only use natural substances in their medicines, including herbs, minerals, and molecules. In fact, natural cellular components help in overcoming the side effects caused by pharmaceutical drugs.

The right remedy is the critical factor in the efficacy of homoeopathy as a means to combat juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). However, the type, frequency, and timing of treatment are crucial as well.

In order to combat these symptoms, the most commonly used remedies depend on their origin. The series of traditional Chinese medicines (TCM) for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is divided into five main categories.

There are many homoeopathic preparations available, and they are all effective in the treatment of this disease. The choice of remedy is highly individualized as the quality of the substance and the composition of the medicine used are important factors.

During the treatment, certain symptoms of SJIA can be reduced or even completely eradicated. A positive response to the treatment is necessary for the Physical and Mental Health, as well as to prolong the lifespan in general.

Two main types of remedies are available in powder and liquid formulations.
